STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

It's finally here!

Tonight marks a milestone nearly a year in the making. Paul attended the cast and crew screening of the new "Star Wars.” Along with the talented music prep team for the film, Paul spent nearly 11 months preparing and orchestrating the scores, working from John Williams’ incredibly detailed pencil sketches. It was a great honor for everyone involved to work on this project.

VARÈSE SARABANDE:  “Back in Time...1985 at the Movies”

Recording sessions finished today for the album.

The sessions took place at 20th Century Fox Studios for a new release from label Varèse Sarabande featuring film scores from the year 1985. Many of these were favorites of Paul's growing up, such as "Back to The Future" and "The Goonies." It was great fun for Paul to play violin on these recording sessions and he is looking forward to performing the same selections with the Golden State Pops Orchestra in June 2015.

The Extra-Terrestrial" to be performed live with orchestra and film. He remembers vividly seeing this wonderful movie in the theater in 1982, and has always loved John Williams' soaring score to the film. It is a great honor for Paul to be working on this project.

BACK TO THE FUTURE:  LIVE!

Composer Alan Silvestri is creating a concert version for orchestra with film projection.

Paul has spent much of the past month helping engrave the original pencil scores from "Back to the Future." The original full scores were completed by orchestrator James Campbell and have needed to be adapted for live orchestral performance. Having seen the film in the theater in 1985, Paul has enjoyed revisiting Alan Silvestri's memorable score. Significant cues that Paul worked on were "85 Twin Pines Mall," and the wonderful 10 minute "Clock Tower" sequence near the end of the film.
